Srinagar: Terming the Public Safety Act (PSA) on senior Azadi leader and chairman Muslim League Masarat Aalam Bhat as worst example of political vendetta, the Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) Friday said the time and again slapping of such black law on Aalam is undemocratic and unconstitutional.
Such autocratic action clearly shows the Mufti Sayeeds total surrender to New Delhi. He proved to be no more than a puppet in the hands of RSS and BJP and there is no doubt the so-called chief minister is on a mission to facilitate the saffron agenda in Jammu and Kashmir, the HCJK spokesperson in a statement issued to media on Friday said.
He said that in Alams case, authorities are openly violating law and judicial norms. In fact, they (authorities) want to give impression that whoever raises his genuine voice against them will be put behind bars without any justification. We vehemently condemn such act as the way Masarat has been treated is extremely despotic and authoritative, the statement said.
According to spokesperson, the amalgam has supported the shutdown call given by Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Saturday against the illegal and unjustified arrest of Masarat Aalam Bhat.
Commenting on issue of Kashmiri Pandits, the HCJK spokesperson said those groups who are asking for separate townships and pitch for abolition of Article 370 in these towns want to destroy the centuries-old social fabric of Kashmir.
Kashmiri Pandits should not become part of the New Delhis agenda that wants to destroy the religious harmony of Kashmir. It is New Delhis well planned conspiracy to change the demography of the state by settling the outsiders here, he said, adding that Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) would resist any move aimed at creating a wedge between the two communities.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir (HCJK) has strongly condemned the house arrest of its senior leader and chairman Muslim League Mushtaq-ul-Islam.
