PDD will ensure uninterrupted power supply: Chief Engineer

Srinagar:  Power Development Departmet Monday said that Government is committed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to flood prone areas. Chief Engineer PDD, Bashir Ahmed Khan said that the department has been trying it level best to ensure round the clock power supply to the area’s which are under flood threat.

He added that PDD not only provided power supply to the flood prone areas, but also ensured that dewatering process don’t get affected in different areas of Kashmir Valley including Srinagar city. “I appeal to common people to bear with the Department if they sometime witness power cut or low voltage. “Several parts of Kashmir Valley especially Srinagar city are inundated and our priority this time is dewatering,” he Khan told CNS adding that whole Sunday night dewatering process continued in city centre Lal Chowk without any interruption.

Meanwhile, people living in flood prone areas including Mehjoor Nagar, Natipora, Lasjan, Barzulla, Batamaloo, HMT, Bemina hailed the role of PDD for ensuring uninterrupted power supply to these areas. Users on social media sites were all praise for the government and power development department. A user Javid Ahmed while responding to the status of his friend maintained that for the first time from last six years he has seen civil and police administration active and people-fiendly. “Thank You PDD for supplying uniterrupted power supply to us,” another user wrote on facebook.
