Only 10 patients with H1N1 Influenza admitted in the hospital: MS
Srinagar: Patients with Swine Flu symptoms Monday alleged that authorities at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Soura are not keen to collect their samples and to avoid them; the doctors simply direct them to spend their time in isolation at their respective houses.
Scores of patients who were seen outside special Swine Flu ward at SKIMS on Monday told CNS that they have all symptoms that any person has once he suffers from H1N1 influenza and yet the doctors at SKIMS did not bother to collect their samples. I am sure I have been suffering from H1N1 influenza and yet the doctors are telling me to spent time in isolation in my house. I need treatment but nobody cares here, said a patient.
Refuting such allegations, in charge special Swine Flu ward Dr Rehana told CNS that the samples of every patient are collected and tested. On Sunday we took care of some 400 patients while on Monday, the samples of some 200 patients were collected. Patients and attendants must show maturity and patience, she said.
Medical Superintendent SKIMS, Dr Farooq Jan informed that from October 2014, some 902 patients were admitted in the hospital out of those 138 patients were tested positive. He said so far five patients have died due to deadly H1N1 influenza virus.
Dr Jan said that there are only 10 Swine Flu patients admitted in the hospital out of some are on ventilator.
