KULGAM: A joint team comprising of Deputy Commissioner Kulgam and officers from Police, CRPF and Army visited avalanche prone areas of Dodikuchan D.H.Pora.
It was informed that a group of 10 volunteers have been identified in each such location, who will be given training in rescue operation, besides four shelter centres have been identified where arrangements for stocking of ration and first aid facilities shall be made available in case of any eventuality.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed on co-ordination among the concerned departments to enhance preparedness, adding that all available equipments need to be pooled at the shelter centres for their ready use in the wake of any avalanche disaster.
