Daily-wagers to hold protests

SRINAGAR: The daily-rated workers from all the Government Departments of Jammu and Kashmir will stage a protest on February 3 at Pratap Park Srinagar.

In a statement issued today Jammu and Kashmir Casual and Daily-wagers Forum (JKCDF) has appealed all the daily-rated workers of different government departments including PHE, Tourism, Agriculture and Horticulture, PDD, Forest, R&B, Floriculture to assemble at Pratap Park on February 3 at 11 in the morning.

“We are going to chalk out future strategy on Feb 3 to ensure that all the daily rated workers who have been adjusted since 1994 till date get permanent posts in their respective departments,” JKCDF chairman Sajad Ahmed Parrey said adding that the successive governments in the state always exploited the daily-wagers and never framed any policy for them.
