SRINAGAR: A Central Reserve Police (CRPF) barrack along with signal centre was Thursday gutted in a fire incident in Dachigam area of Srinagar city.
Official sources said the fire, triggered by gas leak, erupted inside a barrack of 144 battalion of B coy CRPF stationed at Dachigam.
A barrack, signal centre and official residence were completely gutted. An Assistant Sub-Inspector of CRPF sustained minor burn injuries, they said, adding that the fire tenders reached the spot and doused off the flames.
A senior police official said that a barrack having three rooms including signal centre were damaged in the fire incident.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and start investigations into the incident, they said.
