RAJOURI: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has initiated admission process for research Programmes for (M. Phil & Ph. D) for the year 2015.
As per the handout issued by the University, January 30, is the last date for receipt of Applications for M.Phil & Ph.D programmes. The University has issued notification for M.Phil in in Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Management Studies, Computer Sciences, Arabic, Math, & Applied Mathematics and Ph. D in Botany, Zoology, Arabic, Management Studies, Math and Applied Mathematics.
Handout said that the admission will be made strictly in accordance with the U.G.C regulations governing minimum standard for research Degrees. Applicants for admission to all courses are required to pass Entrance Test and face interview to display their knowledge of the subject and aptitude for research.
They added that for admission to Ph. D programmes in School of Biosciences and Biotechnology only students holding fellowships will be considered.
As per Notifications No. BGSBU/Acad/14/896 issued by the University the Admission Forms and the Prospectus are available for sale for Rs. 1200/- in the office of Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs of the University. It added that for the convenience of aspiring students they can also be downloaded from university website www.bgsbuniversity.org and submitted along with Bank Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, for Rs. 1200/-.
The Vice Chancellor , Professor I.A Hamal was upbeat about the research pursuits in progress in the University. Highlighting the achievements made within a short period of 5 years. He mentioned that at present 50 scholars are on roll in different Schools of the University who are engaged in Research projects sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi, U.G.C, Ministries of Science & Technology and Environment and Forests. Many Scholars of the university have also passed NET and are holding UGC/UGC-CSIR Fellowships.
The research output of different Schools, is being published by first rate National & International Journals which he said, reflects that we are on the right path.
He exhorted young passouts of this and other universities of the State and outside to take advantage of the world class laboratory and library facilities in place in the university and participate in the academic effervescence and excitement.
