Jammu : With the President Pranab Mukherjee imposing governors rule in Jammu and Kashmiron Friday, Governor N. N. Vohra is likely to take over the reins of the government in Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow.
The Governor is also addressing a high level meet with the higher officials of the state.
Sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the governor shall be visiting the State government Secretariattomorrow and will chair a high level meeting of secretaries of various departments to review the progress of the government.
Governor will be given a warm welcome with guard of honor on his visit to the Civil Secretariat, sources said and added that Governor will also visit the Police Headquarters and will review the overall security situation.
Meanwhile after receiving concurrence from the President of India, under section 92(5) of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, Governor, Shri N.N. Vohra, issued a proclamation on Friday evening and assumed with immediate effect all the functions of the government of the state and all the powers vested in or exercisable by anybody or authority in the state, other than the powers vested in or exercisable by the High Court.
Sources said that these powers have been conferred by section 92 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, Proclamation under Section 92(1) of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir to impose Governors Rule in the State.
