3 Commit Suicide in Pulwama

PULWAMA: On the very first day of the new year, four persons tried to end their lives in separate incidents in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Three of them, according to hospital sources, died while a girl was still battling for her life.

Sources in District Hospital Pulwama said that four persons including two girls both 10th class students were admitted in the hospital and three of them had consumed some poisonous substance.

Sources said that a sixteen year old Martic student (name withheld) daughter of Ghulam Hasan  Wagay, hanged herself to death at her house in Malwari Newa on Thursday. Sources said that the deceased resorted to the extreme step after having a quarrel with his family members.

At Bonar Pulwama, Abdul Rashid Najar son of Abdul Aziz, (58) a farmer reportedly died after consuming poison outside his house.

In Ratnipora, a 32-year-old man Fayaz Ahmed Andrabi son of Zahooruddin died in hospital after consuming some poisonous substance.

A 16 year old girl (name withheld) daughter of Bashir Ahmed Bhat of Naro Pulwama in a bid to end her life also consumed poison. She was immediately taken to District Hospital Pulwama where according to doctors she is still battling for life. Police have registered cases and have started investigations. (CNS)
