BJP Parliamentary Board to Decide Next Move
SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party has convened meeting of partys Parliamentary Board on Wednesday evening in New Delhi to discuss the possibilities of formation of government in Jammu and Kashmir where it has emerged as the second biggest party.
Soon after the final poll results were out, the BJPs president Amit Shah called upon the meeting with some top leaders including the national general secretary Ram Madhav in New Delhi and discussed the results with them.
All eyes are now on the Parliamentary Board meeting which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party Chief Amit Shah to formulate a strategy for post poll scenario. The pros and cons of going with the PDP or staying as opposition in the new Assembly will be the issues which will be discussed threadbare, party sources said.
Meanwhile senior BJP leader and Union Minister Prakash Javadikar confirmed that the BJP Parliamentary Board will meet tomorrow at the party headquarters to decide further course of action about the support and formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir.
When asked whether BJP will support the PDP in the formation of government he said that the partys parliamentary board is the final authority to decide on the issue.
ALL OPTIONS OPEN
Sating that all the options were open for the Bharatiya Janata Party to form government in Jammu and Kashmir, party president Amit Shah meanwhile said that the mandate shows that the people have tremendous faith in the BJP.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the BJP president said, After the historic performance in Jammu and Kashmir all the options are open for the Bharatiya Janata Party. We will wait what other parties will do. We also have the chance to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
He said that the wining such a big number of the seats in Jammu and Kashmir is a sign that people have given their mandate to the Bharatiya Janata Party. I salute the people of Jammu and Kashmir for support to our candidates in the state. The Prime Minister is serious about the developments of the state and we are happy that people have shown their interest in the BJP.
