O humanity! Verily we have created you from a single male and a female and have made you into tribes and populates so that you may know one another. Verily the most honourable of you are those who are most pious with Allah (Holy Quran).
According to Quran and Hadith, both men and women share the same aim in life and expect same rewards and respect as human beings. Quranic discourse on women is mostly based on the rights and respect (honour) of women instead of their duties and Islam austerely emphases the grace and sanctity of women. From a mother, a housewife/a kitchen keeper to a professional connoisseur, every woman deserves a certain amount of respect and expects her sanctity to be maintained by men. Pathetically these days we often come upon the increasing menace of women demoralisation in terms of eve teasing or sexual assaults, abductions. That clearly shows the deprivation in mens respect for women, which turns up generating loutish vibes over the hearts and minds of men.
Above all putting up in such a saintly and rich cultured place like Kashmir where society had embellished women with a pinnacle status, and when we find such a roguery clenching our well fashioned society, that really hurts. Unfortunately these rogue elements abound in our society and muddle the symmetrical nature of our society. Women are strong beings who have earned their rights to respect as conceptualized well in Islam. But miserably these days we frequently stumble upon deplorable incidents of women atrocities that degrade the legitimacy of our cultural values. Such nuisances are terribly copious and are leading the future of Kashmir to devastation.
Where are we actually heading to?
Several preeminent poets and essayists have beautifully quoted sententious verses about the three dimensional role of women, woman as an adoring mother, an admiring daughter, and a sensible wife and in each role, its the mans prime obligation to dignify her femininity as versed in well by Allama Iqbal (R.A.);
Ne Pardah Nah Taleem Nayee Ho Ke Puraani,
Nisvaaniyat-e-Zann Ka Nigahbaan Hai Faqat Mard
It states; Neither Purdah Nor Education, whether it be new or old, The guardian of the femininity of woman is only man.
I believe men should ethically respect women in all facets of life and should support her unconditionally to win over societal iniquities and moreover its the responsibility of sermonizers and civil society as well who play a vital role in shaping our society to take efficacious steps in embarking upon the agony of women plights.
