Showkat Bakhshi arrested

Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi was arrested by police in a nocturnal raid.

In a statement a spokesman of the JKLF said, “He (Bakshi) was kept at police station Bemina for some time and then shifted to Islamabad jail. By arresting Showkat Police has almost detained the total leadership of JKLF. Police has so far detained dozens of JKLF leaders and hundreds of its well-wishers and activists across Kashmir valley  including JKLF chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik ,vice chairman advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, vice chairman master sheikh Mohammad Afzal, secretary general engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Eidi, zonal deputy chief organizer Siraj Ud Din Mir, Zonal president Noor Mohammad Kalwal, zonal senior vice president Mohammad Yasin Bhat, zonal press secretary Mohammad Ashraf Dar, District presidents Bashir Ahmad Boya, Rafiq Ahmad War and Javed Ahmad Butt, sectary Ganderbal Gayas ud din, Abdul Hamid, Mohammad Sultan Wani, Mohammad Akbar, Fayaz Ahmad, Aakif Ahmad, Mudasir Ahmad, Parvaiz Ahmad and Mohammad Himayoon.”
