Hurriyat (M) condemns arrest spree

Srinagar: Sternly condemning the arrest of youth in Ganderbal and Bandipora under the garb of ‘so called elections’, arrest of Hurriyat workers and activists, and imprisoning of parents of Hurriyat leaders, Hurriyat (M) spokesman has termed such “act on part of administration as a clear case of frustration.”

Meanwhile, on the instructions of Hurriyat (M) chairman, a delegation comprising of leaders including Javaid Ahmad Mir, Hakim Abdul Rashid and Bashir Ahmad Andrabi visited Frisal Kulgam and Pulwama to pay tributes to the three youth who were slain recently.

Terming the sacrifices laid by Kashmiris as the jugular vein of freedom struggle, the Hurriyat (M) leaders said, “The conglomerate would protect the priceless asset of sacrifices offered by the nation at any cost, besides, it would continue to fight for the right to self determination on social, political and diplomatic level on local and international front.”

In a statement a spokesman of Hurriyat (M) said while travelling to Frisal Kulgam, Syed Bashir Andrabi was arrested by the Indian forces and lodged in Pulwama Jail. He strongly condemned the arrest of Andrabi and stated that such cowardly acts would not deter the Hurriyat leadership from pursuing the cause of freedom struggle till it reaches its final destination.
