JAMMU: Oozing with confidence, Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on Thursday said that the next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from his party.
Addressing public meetings in Banihal and Ramban assembly constituencies in Jammu region, he said: BJPs 44-plus election agenda for the state will be realised during the assembly polls. The next chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir will be from our party, he declared.
We are committed to end this dynastic rule so that an era of progress and development is ushered in the stat, Shah said.
To accomplish partys mission 44? (majority seats in J&K assembly), Shah was on a campaign trail.
Buoyed by recent successes in Maharashtra and Hatyana BJP president is keen to capture the state of Jammu and Kashmir where prime minister Narendra Modi has already decided to campaign for the party candidates.
Shah criticised the over 60-year dynastic rule of the National Conference-Congress combine, asserting that Jammu and Kashmir owed all its ills to this dynastic rule.
We are committed to end this dynastic rule so that an era of progress and development is ushered in the state, said the BJP president.
However, in his speech, the BJP president steered clear of the controversy over article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Banihal and Ramban assembly constituencies will go to polls on November 25 in the first round of the five-phased assembly polls in the state.
JK HUB OF CORRUPTION: Taking a dig at state politicians for filling up their coffers and indulging in mass scale corruption, Shah said that Jammu and Kashmir has become the hub of corruption where hundreds of scams go unnoticed.
Shah lashed out at National Conference and Congress party leaders for promoting corruption in the state. The poll affidavits filled up by these NC, PDP and Congress candidates surprise and shock us all as they depict how much wealth they have amassed during all these years. Every candidate is worth crores of rupees. These politicians have grabbed central funds and have left people at the mercy of God, Shah said.
Amit Shah said that the ultimate motive of BJP is to put an end to dynastic hegemony in Jammu and Kashmir. It is surprising that some leaders are ruling the state from the towers of London. The NC, PDP and Congress leaders are treating Jammu and Kashmir as their fiefdom and BJP wants to put an end to their autocratic rule, he said adding that most of the ministers in Jammu and Kashmir have turned out to be corrupt.
Look at the poll affidavits of BJP candidates and you will get an idea how much worth they are. They have not amassed movable and immovable property, he added.
The policy maker of BJP appealed people to vote for the party in large numbers if they want development and complete integration of State with the rest of India. Whether we will accomplish our mission 44+ or not, but one thing is sure that it is the dream of BJP to develop Jammu and Kashmir on all fronts. We will provide assistance to the State to mitigate the sufferings of the people who have suffered a lot at the hands of National Conference and Congress party, Shah said.
