Srinagar: Congress President Sonia Gandhi will address public rallies in favour of party candidates in Bandipore and Ramban districts for the first phase of Assembly elections schedule on November 25.
“Congress President will campaign for the Party candidates in the state on November 21,” Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President, Prof Saif-uddin-Soz told reporters here this evening.
She will arrive in Bandipora around 10 AM and address a rally there and later in Ramban town, JKPCC Chief said.
Congress and its senior leader Gulam Nabi Azad face a acid test in the region as the party had won 6 out of 15 seats in 2008 Assembly elections, particularly 5 seats out of 6 seats in Chenab Valley, home turf of Azad.
