PDP leader’s cavalcade stoned

Srinagar: A sumo driver was injured in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district when the cavalcade of Peoples Democratic Party’s leader was allegedly stoned by CPI (M) supporters.

Sources told GNS that PDP leader and nominate candidate for Kulgam constituency, Nazir Ahmad Laway’s cavalcade was stoned by the supporters of CPI (M) General Secretary Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami at Tarigam village.

“Due to stone-pelting on Laway’s vehicle, a sumo driver who was part of the cavalcade, sustained injury in his head and was rushed to hospital,” they said.

The injured driver has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Gaffar Bhat. (GNS)
