Rajouri Woman's Gang-Rape: 6 Held

RAJOURI: Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested six persons for allegedly “gang raping” a 22-year-old woman in this mountainous Rajouri district.

According to the sources, the incident came to fore when the woman lodged a complaint with police few days back.  

As per the woman, she was lured by her boyfriend on pretext of marriage and later along with his accomplices carried out the crime.  

Acting on the complaint, police registered case—FIR 593/14 under sections 376, 109 RPC and has got the victim medically examined, the results of which are awaited, they said.

Immediately after the compliant, they said, police constituted different teams who later arrested all the accused.   

Some of the arrested, they said, include Mohammad Mushtaq, Hakim Din, Abdul Majid, Kasim Din (brothers) and Ayub, all residents of Palma in the district.

In the first week of November, Police booked three persons including a deputy village-head Mohammad Sharief, Khadim Hussain and main accused Zakir Hussain for their alleged involvement in raping a divorced woman. She too was lured on the pretext of marriage. Agencies
