BARAMULLA: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is likely to nominate son of Dilawar Mir as candidate for upcoming polls from Rafiabad constituency.
Dilawar Mir resigned from PDPs General Secretary post on Wednesday after a court in Delhi sentenced him to three years jail over a case related to wrongful release of rupees 30 lakh and contract for sale of urea to his firm by public sector National Fertilizers Limited in 1993-1996.
Yawar Mir, the son of Dilawar Mir, on Thursday shared the stage with the PDP patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Syed during a rally at Dak Baglow Baramulla, sources said.
They said Yawar was representing PDP workers from Rafiabad assembly segment.
Senior PDP leader and Member of Parliament, Muzzafar Hussain Beigh, told reporters here that PDPs core committee would decide tomorrow about the nomination.
Sources informed that Mir is in the favour of Yawars nomination as candidate from Rafiabad constituency. (GNS)
