Srinagar: National Conference Minority Cell Kashmir held an extraordinary meeting that was convened by the partys Minority Cell Coordinator Sardar Jagdish Singh Azad at party headquarters in Srinagar.
The Minority Cell condemned recent misleading statements by self-proclaimed Chairman of the Sikh Coordination Committee Jagmohan Singh Raina and said that Raina had bartered the interests of the community to a certain political party for his personal interests and welfare. Jagmohan Singh Rainas statement regarding Sikhs supporting a certain political party is ridiculous and laughable. The Sikhs of J&K have always been emotionally and ideologically aligned to National Conference and will continue to nurture this strong, timeless bond with the party which has always been a harbinger for the rights of the minorities, Sardar Jagdish Singh Azad said while addressing the meeting.
Sardar Jagdish Singh Azad said that there has been no meeting of the Sikh Community with Jagmohan Singh Raina and his statements are purely based on his own interests and personal ambitions. No Sikh Coordination Committee exists with Jagmohan Singh Raina as its Chairman. This is a clear misrepresentation of the communitys political rights and opinions and is a distortion of the truth. Jagmohan Singh Raina is a self-proclaimed leader who is limited in his presence to press statements and he is not in any way, shape or form associated with the Sikh Community, Azad said.
