Srinagar): President Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Dr Nisar ul Hassan Wednesday said people of Kashmir have the capacity to rehabilitate flood hit families on their own.
In a statement he said Kashmiris rescued and provided relief to flood ravaged families and should acknowledge and realize their capacity to rehabilitate them. The mission of rehabilitation of flood victims will be accomplished only when each and every Kashmiri in and outside state will donate generously. This donation is not only their responsibility but their duty, he said.
The donations and rehabilitation should be organized under one umbrella so as to do away with the chaos created by multiple organizations involved in rehabilitation. We need to come out with the banner of togetherness and inculcate a sense of brotherhood for rehabilitating flood affected families, Dr Hassan added.
The DAK president said how can we live in cozy rooms when flood affected families are spending nights under open sky in this cold climate?
Kashmiris neither should expect nor ask for help from tyrants who are inflicting pain and miseries on us for raising voice against tyranny. The conscience does not allow us to ask for help from occupants who have hurt our sentiments and emotions, he said.
God has given us an opportunity to help our flood affected brethren and we should rise to the occasion and take the responsibility of their rehabilitation on our shoulders, Dr Hassan added.
