Customers comfort is our peace of mind
Srinagar, Oct 3: J&K Bank chairman & Chief Executive Officer Mushtaq Ahmad visited several business units (branches) of the bank here today to review functioning of the branches which were rendering all banking facilities and services despite being a holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act 1881. The chairman had ordered all J&K Bank business units (branches) and extensions counters in the Kashmir valley to remain open today for normal banking transactions.
Notably, the bank branches in Kashmir valley shall remain open even on Sunday for normal banking services, where business hours would be from 10 am to 4 pm and working hours from 10 am to 5 pm.
The chairman & chief executive officer, Mushtaq Ahmad interacted with customers during his visit to the branches and he assured them hassle free services and full support in all conditions. Customers comfort is our peace of mind. In order to obviate inconvenience to our customers which was likely to be caused due to continuous holidays ensuing Eid, we decided to keep all our branches in the Kashmir valley open for all banking services and facilities today. Even the branches will be functional on Sunday (5th October) also, said the chairman.
While talking about restoration of banking services during the catastrophe, he said, First let me appreciate people, especially our customers, for bearing with us for first few days after 6/7 catastrophic floods. However, we immediately swung into action and despite connectivity constraints we successfully got our branches and ATMs on active mode. Today, you see all our delivery points in the valley especially in flood affected areas are functional.
Notably, the chairman also visited free medical camp organized by the bank at Iqbal Park Srinagar. Over 1000 patients have been treated and provided with free medicines at the camp during the last two days. As already reported, this 4-day free medical camp has been organized by the bank in association with local NGO Help Poor Voluntary Trust and a Delhi based J&K Flood Relief Group formed by Kashmiri based professionals working in Delhi.
Meanwhile, people across the valley have hailed the bank for keeping its branches open even on holidays. Besides, the patients expressed their satisfaction over the treatment meted out to them at the medical camp organized by the bank.
