SRINAGAR: The demise of prominent religious cleric and politician Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari has been widely mourned.
Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has described Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari a versatile orator and an outstanding religious scholar.
Azad said that Moulvi Iftikhars death, besides being a personal loss, is a great loss to the society and State. Azad further said that the deceased leader all along his political career served the people of the State with fervor and commitment, adding that his contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
Moulvi Sahab was an embodiment of confidence and courage who steadfastly propagated the values and ideals which he believed in, notwithstanding the odds, said Azad.
Omar visits Darul Jawad
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has expressed deep grief over the sad demise of the religious leader, Former Minister and sitting Legislator, Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari who passed away here this morning.
The Chief Minister visited the residence of the late leader expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family, conveyed his sympathy, offered Fateh and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Meanwhile National Conference has condoled the untimely demise of Moulvi Iftikhar and has said that his death has left a void that will be long felt in the religious and political arena of the State.
In a condolence message, National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has extended heartfelt condolences to the family and followers of Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari and prayed for peace to the departed soul. Terming Moulvi Sahabs contributions as a religious scholar and public representative as historic and commendable, Dr. Farooq Abdullah has said that he was personally grieved at this loss.
Governor Vohra
N.N. Vohra, Governor, has expressed grief over the sad demise of Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Member, J&K Legislative Assembly and President of All J&K Shia Association.
In the condolence message, the Governor has expressed sadness on the demise of Molvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari whom he had known for many years. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family in this hour of sadness.

Peoples Conference chairman Sajad Gani Lone has condoled demise of prominent Shia cleric and PDP vice president Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari.
Sajad termed Ansari a religious luminary and farsighted political leader. His unfortunate demise has created a void not only among the Shia community but for the whole of the society, Sajad has said.
Sajad has expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, further praying for the peace to the departed soul. May Almighty Allah give endurance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. It will take long to fill the void created by Ansari Sahebs unfortunate demise, he added.

Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the religious leader, former Minister and sitting MLA, Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, who passed away here today.
He described him a visionary, great religious and political leader who contributed a lot for the up-liftment and socio-economic development of downtrodden people.

Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar and Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone have expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of the religious leader, former Minister and sitting Legislator, Moulana Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, who passed away here today.
They described him a visionary, great religious and political leader who contributed a lot for the up-liftment and socio-economic development of downtrodden people.
While conveying their condolences, they extended sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
MIRWAIZ UMER
Mirwaiz Umer Farooq expressed profound greif and regret over the demise. He stated that Ansari happened to be a close friend of Shaheed-e-Millat, Moulvi Mohammad Farooq, adding, the day Awami Action Committee was founded by the Shaheed-e-Millat for demanding right to self determination, Ansari was one of its founding members. Offering his heartfelt condolences, Mirwaiz expressed his solidarity with the bereaved family.

Anjamun-e-Shari-e-Shiayan patron Aga Sayed Hassan al Mosavi has termed Ansari a religious luminary and farsighted political leader.
His untimely demise has created a void not only among the Shia community but for the whole of the society, Aga said.
Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the Anjumane Share prayed for the peace to the departed soul. May Almighty Allah give endurance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. It will take long to fill the void created by Ansari Sahebs unfortunate demise, he added.
