Assembly resolution irks BJP

SRINAGAR: Jugal Kishore Sharma, one of BJP’s two Jammu MPs, has termed the resolution calling for resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue as the state’s interference in India’s foreign policy matters. Terming as highly ‘dangerous’ the four developments which unfolded in J&K State Legislature between Aug 25 and 28, Sharma, who’s also the BJP’s State President charged the NC-Congress coalition government with converting the State Legislature into a ‘pro-Pakistan’ platform and accused the PDP of overtly and covertly supporting the anti-India acts being committed by the desperate NC and Congress coalition.

“Instead of using the last short-duration monsoon session for public-related, state-centric and developmental issues, the NC, in collaboration with the Congress, has converted the J&K Assembly into anti-India platform in its desperate bid to polarize the society and win a few votes in the Valley. Sadly, the main opposition, PDP, also utterly failed to come up to the expectations of the people by directly and indirectly endorsing the pro-Pakistani stand which Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Speaker of Assembly Mubarak Gul and MoS Home Sajjad Ahmad Kitchloo took on the floor of the assembly and the anti-India and pro-Pakistan resolution an NC MLC moved in the Legislative Council. The NC, the Congress and the PDP will have to pay a very heavy price for taking recourse to pro-Pak line on the cancellation of the India-Pakistan bilateral talks,” said the BJP MP, adding that the nation has taken a serious exception to irresponsible utterances of Omar Abdullah, Mubarak Gul, Sajjad Kitchloo and Rana.

“All of them acted as spokespersons of the rogue, terrorist and radicalized Pakistan by speaking its language in the legislature, denouncing the BJP-led Government for the cancellation of talks with Pakistan, interfering in the Indian foreign policy matters and giving the separatist and communal constituency to understand that the NC-Congress coalition government didn’t consider J&K an integral part of India and that its stand on J&K is similar to the one Pakistan has,” the BJP chief further said, adding that no power on earth can grab even an inch of the state territories. “The BJP will defeat all the break-India games with full might and teach Pakistan a lesson sooner than later in case Islamabad continues to bleed India and violate ceasefire to further its geo-political and communal interests in the J&K, which for India, is the most vital state of the country,” he said.

Jugal warned the NC-Congress combine and the PDP against what they have been doing to inject poison in the state’s body-politics and urged the people across the state to join the BJP’s historic “Mission 44+” for their own development as well as for the development of the state. He said he has no doubt whatever in his mind that the people of the state are watching with vigilance the subversive activities of these three parties and that they decimate them even in Kashmir in the coming assembly election, as they have full faith in the policies and programmes of the BJP-led NDA and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
