Srinagar: The GOC 15 Chinar Corps on Friday visited the Koil Company of Awantipora Border Security Force in south Kashmirs Pulwama district and took stock of the security situation.
A defence spokesman in a statement issued to GNS said the Lt. General Subrata Saha was also briefed about the prevailing situation by the IG BSF, PS Sadhu and Commandant of the Battalion.
The Corps Commander thereafter interacted with the BSF troops deployed at the Base and complimented them for their high standards in carrying out the important strategic task of guarding the Awantipora Air Base, the spokesman said.
Assuring full support to the BSF in the backdrop of recent militant attacks in which two BSF men were killed and 13 injured, he emphasized on the need for optimizing the operational capability of the troops, the spokesman said, adding: He emphasized for professional and ethical conduct of security forces at all times.
