Trade body disowns politics

Srinagar: Giving itself a wide berth from the political activism, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) Tuesday stated that the alliance is an apolitical organization having no connection with the political activism of Panches and Sarpanches under its banner.

“KEA is an apolitical organization and only a trade body working for the betterment of trade and commerce. Any involvement of persons having political affiliation would not be entertained in KEA. The decision of including Panches and Sarpanches in KEA stands cancelled,” remarked the members of the KEA.

According to the details, It was also decided to choose an adhoc chairman and later Farooq Ahmad Dar was chosen for the post while as three member team was also constituted  that will held the elections of the alliance within 40 days period.

Addressing a press conference president house boat association Mohammad Yousuf stated that there are 12 constituents of the alliance out of which 9 have expressed their dissatisfaction over the present chairman. Kashmir hoteliers’ association president Showkat Choudhary stated that Mohammad Yasin Khan was given the task of framing the constitution of KEA within the two years’ time but even after three and a half years no action in this regard was taken.
