Srinagar: Director School Education Kashmir Mir Tariq Ali alongwith a team of officers of his directorate paid surprise visit to various schools of Srinagar and Bandipora Districts.
The Director found most of the schools were functioning satisfactorily and normal academic work was going on. However, the Director school education took a strong note of total absence of 168 students and the locked class rooms of government Primary School Dangerpora and Boys Middle School Dangerpora which has affected the functioning of the schools badly.
According to a statement , the Director later ordered constitution of an investigating committee headed by Chief Education Officer Bandipora which will probe the poor performance of the two schools and submit a report to Director within a period of one week. It was also found that the Headmaster of Middle School Sheikh Mohalla Panzinara has availed undue number of leaves in the current academic session which has affected the school badly. Moreover on inspection of ZEO office Sumbal ZEPO was found unauthorisedly absent from duty. Director has ordered immediate suspension of the said officer. Director School Education also found that at Primary School Ali Abad Gund Hasi Bhat, both the teachers including one ReT were absent from duty who have been placed under suspension. Director himself conducted the morning assembly of the students at the school.
The other schools visited by Director School Education Kashmir were Boys Higher Secondary School Zainakoot, Middle School Zainakoot. At both the institutions the school work was going on satisfactorily. Director School Education also visited Boys Higher Secondary School Mujgund, Boys High School Panzinara, Govt. Girls Middle School Mirpora Panzinara, Boys Middle School Shahtul Pora Sumbal, Boys High School Shadipora, and Higher Secondary School Sumbal which was found functioning quite satisfactorily. The students of Middle School Wangnipora and Primary School Wangnipora are not being provided mid day meals. Action under rules has been orderd in this regard.
Director School Education Kashmir has said that he will continue the surprise visits of Government Schools to infuse sense of accountability and responsibility. He has emphasized upon the field officers to vigorously continue the inspection of schools and subordinate offices so that school education system comes upto the greater expectations of the department and the people in particular. He said that no negligence or slackness of duty shall be tolerated, because the department is the maker of future of our younger generations. No compromise shall be made on the future and career of students, he added. The direct was also accompanied by personal officer Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani and Mohd Sultan Khan.
