GOOL: Blaming the ruling coalition for “plundering” the resources of the state, opposition leader Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Thursday said the National Conference-Congress coalition regime had lost confidence of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The patron of the Peoples Democratic Party said, While as loads of money were spent to provide luxuries to the ministers and leaders of ruling coalition, the government does not have money to provide matching grants to start various central sponsored welfare schemes in the State.” He said that the poor and the needy people were the worst victims of the wrong policies being adopted by this government.
that except indulged into deceit tactics this regime has done nothing to address grievances of the people during the last nearly six years
National Conference led government has nothing to highlight as achievement of its nearly six years long tenure, Mufti said, while addressing an impressive public meeting at Gool in which he announced Imtiyaz Shan as party candidate for Gool-Arnas Assembly segment.
He regretted that instead of addressing grievances of the people, thisgovernment is brazenly indulged into photo session to get cheap publicity just to befool the people. Some of the noticeable achievements of this government are legalizing corruption, undermining democratic institutions, stifling dissent voices and hoodwinking people by making false promises, he said and added that coffers of the state were empty due to the prevailing financial mis- management.
PDP patron said the due to lack of transparency and accountability, the state has been pushed into a virtual whirlpool of corruption, maladministration and despair. He further added that the development process was almost paralysed while the major initiatives taken by the previous PDP led coalition government have been almost abandoned.
What to say of starting new projects, the projects approved by the previous coalition regime are also running behind schedule, he said, adding, Prime Ministers reconstruction programme is also in disarray and various central sponsored projects could not take off due to failure of the state government to give matching money.
Taking a dig at leaders of ruling National Conference for speaking different language, he said that NC leaders were trying to hoodwink the people by speaking such language. Gone are the days when NC leaders used to be-fool the people by such deceit tactics, he said and added that NC leaders cannot hoodwink the people any more. During
the last nearly six years this regime has done nothing to solve problems of the masses, he said and added that it was unfortunate that corruption has been legalized in the State. It is all due to the rampant corruption in the state that woes of poor have been mounting and funds sanctioned for their betterment and upliftment are being pocketed by those who are at the helm of the affairs, he said.
