Srinagar: : Army Thursday claimed that one of its patrolling party came under Improvised Explosive Device attack along the Line of Control in Poonch district that resulted in the death of a soldier.
Defense spokesperson Colonel Manish Mehta told reporters that in Gambhir battalion area in Poonch district, an IED went off suddenly when an Army patrolling party was on way to its camp.
He said that one trooper Shanker Singh lost his life while three others were injured. The spokesperson identified the injured trooper as Lance Naik Mohinder Singh, Sepoy Shamveer and Sepoy Surinder Prasad.
