Srinagar: Burglars broke into the house of a journalist in Harwan Srinagar and decamped with gold and other items worth lakhs of rupees. Meanwhile, unknown persons stole Maruti Zen (JK01E-3558)of another journalist from SDA Colony Batamaloo.
A resident of Chandpora Firdous Colony Harwan Ghulam Nabi Kapra said that all the family members had gone to Raj Bagh to attend a function while the burglars broke into their house in their absence and decamped with gold ornaments that belonged to the better half of his son who is associated with a newspaper. He said that burglars had also ransacked his house. Station House Officer Harwan said that they have no information about the incident. Let they register a complaint we will take cognizance, he said.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons stole the vehicle of another journalist during intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday at Batamaloo Srinagar. I had parked my Maruti Zen outside my rented room and found it missing in the morning. I had also kept a mobile phone (8715050236) in that vehicle, Sameer Showkin said.
Station House Officer Batamaloo said that they have registered an FIR vide number 56/2014 under section 379 of RPC in this regard and police is investigating the matter.
