SRINAGAR: Renowned health expert, Dr Nazir Mushtaq Saturday delivered a lecture on general health awareness, physical and mental health at University of Kashmir.
Stressing that people should take nutritious food and exercise regularly to avoid both mental and physical ailments, Dr. Nazir said that the changing life style, adulteration in food and inadequate sleep are the main reasons for physical and mental ailments.
People should change their lifestyle, eat balanced food, offer regular prayers and exercise regularly to remain healthy, Dr Nazir said.
Advising people to include fresh fruits, green leafy vegetable in their diet chart, he said people should take adequate water during summers to remain fit and hydrated.
A session was also held in which people were counselled on how to avoid stress and tackle day to day psychological stress. Dr. Nazir in his opinion stated that 70-75 per cent girls in Kashmir are suffering from stress-related disorder which is quite alarming.
The event was organised by UGC Academic Staff College, Kashmir University. Prof Fazili coordinated the proceedings of the event.
