BJP’s JK mantri says Art 370 going

SRINAGAR: A day after Narendra Modi took oath as India’s 14th Prime Minster, BJP has again set the cat among the pigeons- stating that Article 370 is a ‘physiological’ barrier and process to repeal it has began.

According to the details, Lok Sabha MP from Udhampur and Minister of State in Modi’s cabinet Jitendra Singh Tuesday stated that the BJP had already started the process of repealing Article 370 and that it is in the continuous talks with the stakeholders. Jitendera stated that the party has won more than half of the seats from Jammu and Kashmir and that repealing of Article 370 is an endorsement of BJP’s stand.

“Article 370 has become more like the psychological barrier. We have started the process of its repealing. We are talking to the stakeholders for the purpose,” said Jitendera Singh. Pertinently, earlier as BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi while holding a public rally in Jammu stated that his party is ready to debate over the presence of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Modi’s comments generated heated arguments in Kashmir with chief minister Omar Abdullah directly challenging Modi to discuss with him the relevance of Article 370- that provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir in entire India. Omar later told reporters that Modi denied to debate with him about Article 370. “I was told that Modi is too busy for the debate on Article 370.”
