A police official said all the formalities were completed in this regard but the Finance Ministry for the reasons better known to it did not take up the matter seriously and the file is gathering dust there. “We can’t stage protest against the government. Revenue officials went on indefinite strike and the government succumbed to their pressure but we are silent and government is taking us lightly,” a police official said.
