Fidayeen Strike Army Camp near Jammu

JAMMU: Fidayeen militants struck an army cantonment area in the Kathua district early Friday sparking a fierce gunbattle with army. Initial reports said one civilian was killed.

According to reports a group of heavily armed militants in combat uniforms, intercepted an SUV Bolero at Dayalchak cantonment area during wee hours on Friday.

When the occupants resistted they opened fire killing one and injuring three others before hijacking the vehicle.

News channels reported that the militants drove towards a nerby army camp and when they were intercepted at the gates an encounter erupted between the two sides.

 

 

According to initial reports, four gunmen have taken up positions and battling the army personnel.
