NC uses Police to harass workers in Old City: PDP

Srinagar:  Peoples Democratic Party leader Muhammad Khurshid Aalam Friday accused police of harassing PDP workers in Old Srinagar City. Aalam told CNS that police is on arrest spree in different parts of down town especially in Khanyar Constituency. “Those who join PDP are being harassed without any reason and they are called to police stations. Police seek photographs and other details from these people which is undemocratic,” he said alleging that Station House Officers deputed in different police stations of Old Srinagar City are acting as supporters of National Conference.

Muhammad Khurshid Aalam said that police has arrested number of youth from Zaina Kadal, Shamswari, Kelashpora and other parts of Khanyar and all the arrested youth are PDP card holders. “In this regard, when a delegation comprised of respectable citizens went to meet SP city North, they were thrashed by police and even two members of the delegation namely Khurshid Ahmed and Muhammad Khurshid were arrested,” he said adding MR Gunj police raided the house of PDP Mohalla President Kelashpora, Ghulam Muhammad Kelashpora and asked him to provide details about the youth who have joined Peoples Democratic Party recently.
