Northern Command Chief in Valley

Srinagar: At the backdrop of recent successful conduct of operations during which a large number of terrorists have been eliminated, Lt Gen Sanjiv Chachra, Northern Army Commander visited the Kashmir Valley. He arrived in Srinagar today.

According to an army statement, the Army Commander was briefed by Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, Chinar Corps Commander on the synergised efforts of the Army and JKP which has resulted in elimination of 21 and apprehension of 13 terrorists this year. Besides   discussion on the overall security situation along LC, Army Commander was also briefed on rescue and relief operations undertaken by the Chinar Corps for the Awam during recent onslaught of snow which caused damages and difficulties in the remote areas of the Valley.
