SRINAGAR: In tune with the recent recommendations put forth by a high level committee for the promotion and propagation of Urdu language in the state of Jammu and Kashmir the Standing Committee of the Academic Council University of Kashmir has proposed to start a PG course in Urdu at its South Campus.
The proposal for starting PG Urdu at South Campus Anantnag was approved during the meeting and all members unanimously appreciated the Vice Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad for his interest in establishing Urdu program in South Campus.
The scheme, syllabus and the curriculum of the upcoming PG course at South Campus would be in vogue with the PG course taught in Urdu at the main campus of the University, said Prof BA Nahvi who was recently appointed as Director South Campus KU.
Meanwhile the student community of South Kashmir hailed KU`s decision and termed it as an important development for the promotion of official language of the state.
