Hundreds Attend Dr Nazir’s Free Med Camp

SRINAGAR: A free medical camp was organized by Valley’s noted physician Dr. Nazir Mushtaq at Florence Hospital here today.

The medical camp which started at 9 in the morning had to be extended upto 6 in the evening due to heavy rush of patients. 

Patients suffering from Diabetes, Gout and Anemia were given free consultation and counseling by Dr. Nazir and by other doctors. 

Many new cases of dubieties were detected among the unsuspecting persons mostly in the age group of 25 to 40, Dr Nazir said. 

It was observed that majority of the patients remain ignorant about importance of a balanced diet, required exercise and proper medication, he said.

“Most of the patients diagnosed with diabetes were unaware of their problem and many more were not ignorant about the complications the diabetes can cause if not taken care of on time”.

During the free camp, nearly a hundred patients were tested for Blood Sugar, Uric Acid and the Blood Count free of cost. At the medical camp the patients were given free medicine and those who had to wait for long were provided light refreshment by the hospital. 

All patients were provided with awareness literature (In Urdu and English).
