SRINAGAR: The degree and diploma holders in Engineering working in Power Development Department has appealed to Chief Minister to absorb them formally as Junior Engineers as they meet all the prerequisite needed for the said post.
A delegation of these degree holders said that they were trained as engineers and they did everything at their command to serve the people but were denied their lawful right from last ten years.
As per SRO 381 there has to be 15 per cent of recruitment from amoungst the eligible person working in the department but to extend the benefit to the genuine employed persons, a small exercise needed to be carried out which always remained incomplete, they said.
They said that the irony of their fate has made them subordinates to the ones who are academically far behind and also do not have the requisite knowhow.
They appealed to Chief Minister to absorb them as junior engineers which they deserve. (CNS)
