DA enhanced by 10pc, Passenger fare revised

JAMMU: The state  government  Saturday sanctioned release of 10 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) instalment raising the total DA of the state government employees from 80 to 90percent w.e.f. July 1, 2013.

The DA arrears w.e.f July 2013 to February 2014 shall be paid to the employees through the GP Fund route and the enhancement in DA shall form part of the monthly salary from March 2014.

The arrears on account of the enhanced rate of DA from July 2013 to December 2013 shall be paid in cash to the state government pensioners/family pensioners in the month of January, 2014 and shall from part of the monthly pension thereafter.

Payment of DA arrears to the government employees governed by the New Pension Scheme (NPS) from July 2013 to December 2013 shall be paid in cash in the month of January, 2014. The employees share @ 10% shall be deducted at source and credited to their respective PRAN Numbers along with the matching share by the Employer. Thereafter, the enhancement in the DA by 10% shall form part of their monthly salary.

Meanwhile cabinet approved passenger fare revision and directed the State Transport Authority to fix the maximum chargeable fare in respect of various categories of vehicles over and above the existing fares and accordingly issue a detailed notification specifying revised route wise fare with immediate effect.

Cabinet approves promotions 

The Cabinet which met here today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah accorded sanction to the promotion of Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, to the fixed scale of IAS (Rs. 80, 000) w.e.f. 08.01.2014.

The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the promotion of IAS officers Vinod Koul, Gazzanfar Hussain and Ghulam Hassan Tantray to the Super Time Scale of IAS (Rs. 37400-67000+GP of Rs. 10,000) w.e.f. 01.01.2014.

The Cabinet also approved promotion of 23 officers of J&K Accounts Service to the Special Scale of Rs. 37,400-67000+GP of Rs. 8700 w.e.f 31.12.2013. It also approved promotion of 47 officers of J&K Accounts Service to the Selection Grade of Rs. 15,600-39,100+GP of Rs. 7600 w.e.f. 31.12. 2013.

The Cabinet also approved regularization of 21 in charge Directors as Directors in the Animal Husbandry Department.

The Cabinet also accorded sanction to the creation of additional staff for J&K Legal Services Authority including 01 post of Under Secretary, 04 posts of Head Assistants and 10 posts of Senior Assistants.

The Cabinet also approved promotion of 9 officers of J&K Social Welfare (Gazetted) service to the Time Scale of Rs. of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (Rs. 15,600-39,100+ GP of 6600). The officers include Mr. Mohammad Subhan, Mr. Ghulam Ahmad, Mr. Mohammad Farooq, Ms. Sonali Arun Gupta, Mr. Atul Gupta, Ms. Kanchan Bala, Mr. Tsering Paldan, Mr. Zubair Hussain Shah and Ms. Ritu Mahajan.
