Awantipora: Scores of insurance policy holders Tuesday staged a protest against Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company outside their branch located in South Kashmirs Awantipora town. The protestors alleged that company is looting people on the name of insurance and never return their share even after the expiry of due-date.
One of the protestors Jalal-u-Din Makroo son of Muhammad Shabaan resident of Padgampora Pulwam said that Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company has committed fraud and is forcing him to wander from pillar to post to get his due share amounting to Rs 7.50 lakhs.
In 1998 I did an Insurance policy vide number 1214-020G and from past so many years I have regularly paying my premium, Makroo said adding that in 2006 unidentified burglars looted his wholesale shop while an FIR vide number 457/2006 stands registered in Police Station Awantipora in this regard.
From past 7 years, the Insurance company is dodging me and is not paying the amount that becomes due to me. This is not a solitary case but so many shopkeepers who are policy holders are being dodged by this company and they have incurred huge losses, he said.
Despite repeated attempts, officials from Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company could not be contacted. (CNS)
