Speakers urge Shia-Sunni unity at Milad rally

SRINAGAR: Thousands of Shia and Sunni Muslims took out a joint Milad procession from Kunzer to Tangmarg with speakers urging forMuslim unity. 

Speaking at the large gathering Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Karwan-i-Islami Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami described the importance of Eid-i-Milad and urged Muslims to get united to counter the plots of the enemies. 

He said that Muslim countries must support the cause of Islam to promote real message of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Member of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (Iran), Aga Syed Abdul Hussain in his address highlighted the importance of Milad-un-Nabi and emphasized upon the need to stand up to global arrogance. 

He said that Muslims around the world must unite to foil the nefarious designs of anti-Islamic elements.

He said if a person belonging to a particular school of thought utters things that make no sense, then grand clerics of the denomination should be contacted to verify the original position. 

He referred to the edict of Supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei wherein he has said that “Insulting any symbol adored by Sunnis is forbidden.” Hussain said the the edict not only resolved misunderstandings, but also foiled the designs of anti-Islamic elements to unleash propoganda against Muslim unity.
