CRPF personnel of the 14th Battalion posted at Gagren camp Shopian shot dead 4 people and injured another on Sep 7, on the eve of Zubin Mehta concert in Srinagar. While three of them were identified as innocent civilians, police claimed that the fourth unidentified victim was a Lashkar operative from Pakistan. However, witnesses claimed that he was a non-local labourer.

Another civilian was shot dead and two others injured on September 11 by the CRPF personnel of the same camp.
