SRINAGAR: After the latest division within the Hurriyat Conference (M), its Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) chapter has started taking initiatives for reconciliation, urging both the groups to reunite.

Sources close to Hurriyat (M) PAK chapter said that its executive council is waiting for a final nod from its PAK chapter so that a final decision in the regard could be taken.  Reliable sources said that the amalgam has postponed its scheduled executive committee meet till January 9 so that the reconciliation of both the fragmented groups could be looked into.

“Mirwaiz Sahib has directed all the leaders of both general and executive council not to issue any statement or comment over the formation of third Hurriyat,” sources said.

However, a senior Hurriyat (M) leader on the condition of anonymity said that the reconciliation process is likely to fail and the reunion of both the divided groups seems impractical at present.

Shabir Shah and Nayeem Khan also refused to comment over the latest development and asked the correspondent to wait for some days.
