Srinagar: Police said on Thursday that it arrested two Hizbul Mujahideen militants from Bandipore district of north Kashmir.
Acting on a tip-off, Special Operations Group (SOG) of police and armys 27 RR raided Putshai area of Kulusa in the district last evening resulting and arrested two Hizb militants identified as Zahoor Ahmad Bhat and Manzoor Ahmad Ganai of Tral, Pulwama, a police official said.
The duo, according to the police official were active in the north Kashmir district for over seven month and were allegedly planning to carry out strikes in the district.
Two hand Grenades, one Chinese made pistol along with 3 rounds and a magazine were recovered from their possession, the official said.
A case Fir No 01/2014 under section 7/25 AI Act has been registered against the duo, the official added.
