SRINAGAR: Authorities Wednesday appealed general public to refrain from using Khyber Toned Milk as according to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Kashmir Division, the analysis report of referral laboratory Kolkatta has reported that the milk was substandard and unsafe for consumption. According to sources the said milk contained detergent.
Office of the Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Kashmir Division has directed all designated officers to keep a strict vigil over the movement of Khyber Toned Milk bearing lot number MD E S.P 17 in the market.
Office of the Deputy Commissioner Food Safety Kashmir Division in a press statement said that this office is in receipt of letter number DO/FSSA/070/279-281 dated 16-11-2013 from designated officer District Budgam regarding the subject analysis report of referral Laboratory Kolkatta Tonned Milk (Khyber Milk), milk processed by Khyber Agro Farms Private Limited Jammu and Kashmir bearing lot number MD E S.P 17 manufacturing date July 2013 with net content one litre has been declared substandard, misbranded and unsafe by referral Laboratory Kolkotta vide their analytical report reference number G.14-6/DO/2013 (pt.1)-725 dated 25-11-2013.
