SRINAGAR: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said Article 370 cannot be scrapped.
It is this Article which connects Jammu and Kashmir with rest of the India and if it is scraped then accession with India automatically becomes redundant, the PDP president told reporters at her residence in Gupkar.
Mehbooba observed that BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is ill informed about Article 370. Article 370 connects Jammu and Kashmir with India and it can be abrogated only with the consent of the Constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir. Besides Modi should know that if this Article is scrapped, the bridge between India and Kashmir will collapse, Mehbooba said.
She said that Modi should understand that Article 370 is not like Babri Masjid, which could be demolished by the communal zealots.
