SRINAGAR: Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar has directed the officers to carry out the beautification of the Jehlum on fast track basis and speed up the pace of work on various developmental initiatives undertaken by the Government.
The Minister was speaking at a meeting convened here today to discuss the status of implementation of various developmental works undertaken by the Government.
It was attended by the senior officers of Irrigation and Flood Control, LAWDA, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Health, Gardens and Parks and other departments.
The Minister directed the officers of Irrigation and Flood Control to speed up the pace of work on the beautification of river Jehlum and its embankments. He said that the same should be fast tracked so that the work is completed upto the Chattabal Veer and directed for the proper rehabilitation of the persons who have been dislocated as a consequence of the same.
While directing the officers of Health and Mechanical Engineering departments to ensure the central heating of the Hospitals, the Minister said that the same is essential for the patients who are undergoing treatment in different hospitals. He asked for the immediate restoration of heating facilities of JLNM, Gousia and other hospitals. Necessary care should be taken to ensure the availability of medicines and other related things to the patients so that they do not face any inconvenience due to non availability of the same, he added and directed the officers to speed the pace of work on the shopping complex being constructed at JLNM Hospital for the shop keepers whose shops have been acquired in Syed Meerak Shah road project.
Sagar directed the LAWDA to complete the bridges connecting the areas of Bagh-i-Roop Singh, Reshi Mohalla, Bhat Mohalla and other with the main land as early as possible for the general convenience of the people living in these areas as they are facing lot of hardships on account of non completion of the same.
The Minister asked the officers of Gardens and Parks to carry out the work on various parks of the Srinagar city and also necessary beautification in and around the shrine of Khankhai Moula and the park at Dastigeer Sahib at an earliest.
