Congress Activists Shot at in Bandipore

SRINAGAR: Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured two persons, including an activist of ruling Congress in north Kashmir’s Bandipore district late Wednesday evening, official sources said.

They said gunmen fired upon the two persons from a point blank range near hospital road at Barzulla in the district at around 7:15 p.m.

The injured persons were identified as Mudasir Ahmad Baba son of Abdul Majeed Baba and and Majeed Amad Khan son of Abdul Gani Khan, both activists of youth Congress.

Both the injured persons were immediately rushed to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences here where the condition of Mudasir was stated to be critical.

Soon after the incident, army and SOG of police cordoned off the area and began searches to nab the assailants.
