SRINAGAR: Condemning the arrest of SKIMS Non Gazetted Employees Welfare Association President, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) today demanded sacking of Institutes director.
Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan condemned the arrest of G M Pandith NGEWA who was arrested on Nov 7th from the premises of Sher-i-Kashmir institute of Medical Sciences(SKIMS) Soura by police cops from Soura police station. He was later was shifted to sub jail Kupwara.
This action by police is illegal and unlawful. This proves beyond doubt that Kashmir is a police state and police state is a lawless state, Hassan alleged adding this was unfortunate that whenever somebody raises his voice against tyranny it is being suppressed by force in Kashmir.
According to DAK Pandith has been a pioneer in struggle against fake drug mafia in the Valley. He has played a pivotal role in exposing fake drug perpetrators.
The medical employees of SKIMS are suffering at the hands of Director Skims who is a dictator and president NGEWA is a victim of his dictatorship. Instead of fulfilling the genuine demands of medical employees ,director skims is harassing and abusing them .Director skims sabotaged the fake drug issue to the extent that he did not even allow an awareness seminar at skims . Director SKIMS recently barged in to female hostel of SKIMS at dead of the night and used indecent language to female inmates which is highly objectionable and unacceptable.
Director SKIMS left to Saudi Arabia to earn money at a time once his services were needed by people of the valley. After coming back he managed to be director skims out of turn. He managed his sons selection in DM course in his department at the cost of some meritorious doctors. So he owes a debt to his masters which he is paying by being more loyal than the king.
Poor patients are suffering and they have to pay huge sums for tests and stay at SKIMS hospital. They have to buy each and every medicine including lifesaving medicines from market. SKIMS has turned into a corporate house and it is unaffordable for poor patients.
President NGEWA is raising his voice against wrongdoings and irregularities of skims authorities and Director skims is suppressing his voice to please his masters in order to safeguard his position.
