DAK president released on bail

SRINAGAR: The President of Doctors Association of Kashmir (DAK) Dr. Nissar-ul-Hassan was today released on bail, earlier arrested for taking out a protest march in Srinagar.

A spokesman of the DAK said, Dr. Nissar-ul-Hassan was arrested under Section 107,151 and 188 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC).

Dr. Hasan said that his arrest was a deliberate move from the government to suppress the just voice about the spurious drugs. “My detention was totally illegal and unconstitutional,” alleges Dr. Hassan. He added that the government is using all suppressive measures in crushing the demand of the punishment of the persons involved in the supply of ‘spurious drugs’ to valley.”

He said that he is going to announce the next protest programme soon and the struggle over the issue of fake drugs would continue. “On October 10, I am attending the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) hearing in the High Court and will pursue the matter till its logical conclusion.”

The DAK president further alleged that the valley has become a ‘Police state’. “The politicians have transferred the Honourable Judge of the high court before whom the case of Spurious drugs was listed. These acts determine how people here can affect judiciary also,” said Dr. Hassan. He added that his patients at SMHS hospital have suffered due his detention and alleged that the authorities have turned a blind eye towards suffering people of valley.
